Things to Do in Rosemary Beach®, Florida for a 3-Day Getaway

Sometimes a quick getaway is just the thing to lift your spirits. If the stress of everyday life is taking its toll, or you feel like you’re coming down with a case of cabin fever, consider taking a short trip to the Rosemary Beach community for a little relief.  If you’re looking for a short-term change of scene for either a long weekend or a quick mid-week break, our paradise on the Emerald Coast is the place to indulge. After three relaxing or fun and adventure-filled days, you’ll be planning a longer break before you know it. Check out our favorite things to do in Rosemary Beach, Florida for a 3-day trip below!

Public Beach

On such a short trip you could spend every day at the public beach in the Rosemary Beach community. Spread out on the sand and sunbathe or splash in the water. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can stop in at one of the many gear rental shops for snorkeling, paddle boards, and other items to help you make the most of your time. Don’t forget to fill your cooler with drinks and snacks before heading out for the day. Basking in the glow of the Florida sun any time of year should be on your to-do list.

Pirate Cruise

Experience the sea as the pirates did. Grab the kids and join Captain “Fearless” Phil and his crew aboard the Sea Dragon for a swashbuckling good time! The two-hour cruise includes sea life sightings, music, and loads of pirate fun. There will be plenty of cold drinks aboard, as well as snacks, t-shirts, and other pirate booty available on board. Kids will love sword fighting, reading a treasure map, pirate tattoos, pirate face painting, and firing the “kid cannon,” just to name some of the activities that will be taking place throughout the ship.

Fishing

Whether you’re looking to catch “the big one” on your deep sea fishing adventure or just want to stick closer to shore, there’s a fishing excursion waiting for you on your short break. There are inshore and nearshore trips, as well as fly fishing excursions that allow you to explore the bayous, flats, inlets, and feeder creeks in the area. Ask about nighttime fishing, too. For the ultimate adrenaline rush while fishing, select companies offer shark fishing excursions. If you view fishing as a solitary activity, rent some gear and head down to the beach for surf fishing and see what’s biting close to shore.

Restaurants

Getting a taste for an area on a short trip also means grabbing a taste of the local cuisine. There are many restaurants and bars in the Rosemary Beach community and the surrounding area to whet your whistle or satisfy the rumble in your stomach. There is something for every palate and price range.

Sightseeing

From the beach and open water of the Gulf of Mexico to the many hiking trails and on shore nature areas, you’ll have to make a list of things to see on your next visit to the area – you won’t have time to see it all. From coastal dunes to state parks and more, the breathtaking sights of the area can’t be missed.

30A Trolley Tours

Rosemary Beach is surrounded by many other neighboring beach communities that dot the scenic highway 30A. Public hop on/hop off trolley tours are available March through October, with private tours held by reservation year-round. These guided tours take you through 12 unique beach communities along 30A, offering nuggets of information and stories, and maybe even a few secrets. You’ll also learn about each community’s unique connection to the environment it surrounds.

Shopping

What’s a short trip without a few tokens to remember it by? From stores full of beach accessories and souvenirs to the nearby Pier Park Mall with stores like Bath & Body Works and American Eagle, you’ll definitely be taking home more than you had when you arrived.

Indoor Fun

Florida is known for its beaches and many outdoor activities. There are times when you want to get out of the sun for a while and into the air conditioning. There are several indoor activities to keep you shielded from the sun’s rays while keeping the fun of your vacation rolling. Take in a live show at the Seaside Repertory Theatre, from stage shows like Pinocchio to live music from local artists; when the season is running, you’ll find something to enjoy. Take a good look in the many mirrors of the Emerald Coast Mirror Maze and try your hand at their Pirate’s Quest laser tag arena or test your spy skills with the laser challenge.
