Spring Fling Concert Schedule:

  • March 15, 2012 – Mockingbird Sun – www.mockingbirdsun.com

From Hank Williams to Tom Petty, the boys of Mockingbird Sun draw from the slow, blue heat of vintage country to forge whiskey-washed folk with classic American rock and roll. The group came together through collaborations with veteran country songwriter Tom Douglas, whose credits include Miranda Lambert’s “The House That Built Me,” Lady Antebellum’s “I Run to You” and Tim McGraw’s “Southern Voice.” After rehearsals in Nashville, the trio hit the road and performed throughout Texas and the Southeast as an opening act for Toby Keith, Jack Ingram, Pat Green and others. In the spring of 2011, the band traveled to Muscle Shoals, AL, to work with Mac McAnally, known for his collaborations with Jimmy Buffett and Kenny Chesney, among others. Mockingbird Sun’s first project, The Muscle Shoals EP, was released in September 2011 and includes the single, “Lucky Guy,” co-written with Liz Rose, one of Taylor Swift’s frequent songwriting collaborators. Mockingbird Sun writes what they love and they play it with a Texas twang and a Tennessee twist! (Live Video)

  • April 5, 2012 – Vintage Trouble – www.vintagetrouble.com

Live-wired, straight-shootin, pelvis-pushin’ juke music! LA-based Vintage Trouble is a sensational, soulful band whose very essence screams out loud of the 1950s. Turned on by and tuned into the evolutionary period in music and life when there was a razor thin line between rhythm & blues and rock & roll, the band reconnects us all to one universal vibration. Their modern day classics transport the mind, spirit and body back to a sweaty, swinging, heart-thumping speakeasy. Their live shows feel like a down-home revival mixed with a gritty, downtown edge. When the buzz tells you they’re near, get to them…and be prepared to be moved! The band won “Best New Band” at the 2011 Classic Rock awards in the UK and their album debuted at #1 R&B and #2 Rock album on Amazon UK. (Live Video)
